Washington. October 5th. INTERFAX - Ukraine and Georgia will join NATO, but this is not a matter of tomorrow, in the meantime, the alliance should increase support for Kiev and Tbilisi, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday.
"I think it's obvious that it won't happen tomorrow, but they will join. Therefore, my message to NATO allies, and what we talked about yesterday with US President Joe Biden, is as follows: We need to step up our efforts and do more for these countries wishing to join (NATO)," he said during an online event organized by the Brookings Institution and Georgetown University.
He explained that such countries should receive more support and training from NATO, they need help in carrying out reforms, in the fight against corruption and building institutions in the field of security and defense.
