Former Chief of the General Staff of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) Retired Russian Colonel-General Viktor Yesin doubted the presence of hypersonic missiles in the DPRK. In his opinion, such developments do not correspond to the industrial level of North Korea. This is reported by Interfax .
Yesin noted that he doubts Pyongyang's readiness to create hypersonic weapons. "The level of development of North Korea's industry does not give grounds to say that this really happened," he said, commenting on the statements about the hypersonic missile tests.
The former chief of the General Staff suggested that North Korea had tested a conventional ballistic missile, passing it off as a hypersonic weapon. He stressed that only Russia, the United States and China have the technology to create hypersonic missiles.
On September 29, it became known about the tests of the hWasong-8 hypersonic missile in North Korea. According to RIA Novosti, the Academy of Defense Sciences of the DPRK conducted a missile launch in Toyanri, Rengrim District.
Earlier, the Korean Central Telegraph Agency reported on the tests of a railway missile system in the DPRK.
