The test launch of South Korea's first space launch vehicle will take place on October 21. This was reported on September 30 by the South Korean Yonhap news agency.
The development was called "Nuri". The latest launch safety exercises are currently underway. It will take place at the Naro Space Center in Gohyn, 473 km south of Seoul. The launch vehicle is already installed on the launch pad. The device weighs 200 tons, liquid engines lift the rocket into space. The first launch will take place without a payload.
South Korea has invested about 2 trillion won ($1.8 billion) in a three-stage model since 2010 and presented a test sample of the missile in June this year.
In 2013, Seoul successfully launched its first NARO space rocket, its first stage was built in Russia.
On September 29, it became known about NASA's plans to launch a research vehicle to the planet Neptune, the most distant from the Sun, in 10 years. The start of the Neptune Odyssey mission is scheduled for 2031.
