Washington. September 30th. INTERFAX - US Assistant Secretary of Defense for China Affairs Michael Chase and Deputy Head of the Office for International Military Cooperation of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China Huang Xueping held another round of talks on defense policy in a videoconference format on September 28 - 29, the Pentagon said.
"During the talks, both sides held a frank, in-depth and open discussion on a number of issues affecting US-China defense relations," the statement said.
"The American side has clearly stated our commitment to respect the principles shared with our allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region," the Pentagon said.
A representative of the US Defense Ministry noted that "both sides confirmed the consensus on maintaining open communication channels."
