Yan Novikov, General Director of the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, believes that the United States is working on technologies for creating reusable combat orbiters capable of delivering covert strikes from space.
He told about this in an interview with "Red Star".
Novikov noted that the United States is modernizing and developing a whole range of means that should allow them to deliver rapid pinpoint strikes on any type of targets anywhere in the world.
"If we talk about aerospace vehicles, these are, first of all, the X-37 orbital unmanned vehicles," the CEO said.
According to him, the first such device was launched in 2010, and by today there are already several of them. Officially, such devices have research purposes.
"But we understand that they can serve as carriers of nuclear warheads. The United States plans to further increase the number of such vehicles in space. This is a serious challenge, " Novikov added.
According to the head of Almaz-Antey, on the basis of experiments with these unmanned vehicles, technologies for creating reusable strike aerospace systems are being worked out. These systems should ensure prompt actions and a wide range of capabilities while reducing the cost of operation.
