TSAMTO, September 23. Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee of Belarus Dmitry Pantus checked the progress of preliminary tests on the development of a prototype within the framework of the ROC on the development of a light multi-purpose grenade launcher complex "Sapphire" by one of the enterprises of the country's defense industry.
On the territory of the 227 combined arms training ground (Borisov), the enterprise, with the participation of representatives of the State Military Industry, conducted tests to check the external ballistics of the grenade body with an inert head and a standard jet engine.
The purpose of the tests was to verify the compliance of the developed and manufactured components of the prototype with the requirements specified in the tactical and technical task for conducting R & D, and the possibility of using them as part of a serial product.
The tests were carried out by the method of single shooting at a target-catcher with a size of 2x2 m, installed at a distance of 133 m.
The prototype in the form of a transport and launch container (TPC) with a grenade launcher shot located inside (a thrown object), using a special bracket, was placed on a tripod machine to the SPG-9 anti-tank grenade launcher. Aiming was carried out with the help of mechanical guidance devices.
After each test (shot), by analyzing high-speed video recording, the external ballistics of the product was checked, as well as the operation of the jet engine, the reaction of the machine and the TPC body, the product's exit from the barrel channel, the operation of the tail.
The tests carried out confirmed the technical solutions chosen by the enterprise, which will allow completing the ROC in the scheduled time, the press service of the State Military Industry Committee of the Republic of Belarus reports.
