According to the Global Times newspaper, the new equipment successfully produced 35.55 cubic meters of this eco-friendly fuel in 35 hours
BEIJING, September 22. /TASS/. The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) has developed a national hydrogen liquefaction system for refueling new - generation space rockets-Changzheng-5-be and Changzheng-7. This was reported on Wednesday by the Global Times newspaper.
According to the publication, the new equipment successfully produced 35.55 cubic meters of this eco-friendly fuel in 35 hours. As the CASC designers explained, the system is capable of producing up to 2.3 tons of fuel per day.
It is assumed that this development will allow the PRC to significantly reduce its dependence on imported technologies used in Chinese cosmonautics. Previously, they provided most of the supplies of liquefied hydrogen produced in the country. The new domestic system, as noted, will allow meeting China's demand for this type of fuel.
The director of the Institute number 101 at the 6th CASC Research Academy, Wang Chenggang, clarified that the level of localization of components for this equipment exceeds 90%. It is expected that such technologies will stimulate the development of hydrogen energy in China.
Beijing is actively developing the national space program, developing meteorological, telecommunications and navigation satellites, as well as technologies for the exploration of the Moon. Chinese scientists are also implementing a project to study asteroids and Mars, the study of the surface of which they have already begun.
According to the official statement of the Chinese corporation, this year China will carry out at least 40 launches and set a new national record. Since the beginning of the year, China has put spacecraft into orbit more than 30 times.
