MOSCOW, 22 Sep-RIA Novosti. In Russia, the creation of a new shooting complex using neural networks has begun, which will be able to identify targets, aim and shoot, the soldier will only need to make a decision about defeat, Sergey Urzhumtsev, chief designer of Kalashnikov Concern JSC, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He added that the company will offer the Ministry of Defense to open research and development work in order to bring the development to the level of serial samples.
The designer explained that the new shooting complex should provide an increase in the probability and speed of hitting targets, this will require the integration of various optical and electronic devices into a single system with samples of small arms. It will not only help the shooter in pointing, aiming, calculating corrections, etc., but also replace it when physically affecting the elements of the weapon, such as processing the trigger at a time corresponding to the correct location of the barrel of the weapon relative to the target.
Urzhumtsev added that at night or in bad weather conditions, targets may be physiologically inaccessible to human detection. Therefore, the shooting complexes of the future should be able to identify and accompany targets in such conditions, and this will require the use of artificial intelligence technologies, trained neural networks.
