Alan Lushnikov, First Vice-President of the Kalashnikov Union of Russian Gunsmiths, noted that the production of civilian small arms and the strengthening of the position of domestic manufacturers in this market allows defense industry enterprises to fulfill their tasks
MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. The introduction of Western sanctions against Russian weapons only formalized tacit decisions aimed at curbing its position on the world market. This opinion was expressed by the first vice-president of the "Union of Russian Gunsmiths named after M. T. Kalashnikov" Alan Lushnikov.
"Buyers on world markets have faced difficulties when buying Russian weapons. The sanctions that the United States has recently imposed on both the weapons industry and the cartridge industry are, in general, just a formalization of those decisions that were previously applied behind the scenes," Lushnikov believes.
According to him, the production of civilian small arms and the strengthening of the position of domestic manufacturers in this market allows defense industry enterprises to fulfill their tasks. "Therefore, in this situation, when the state requires us to support mobilization capacities, new developments and, in general, tasks for the diversification of production, we must inevitably discuss how to balance the work of civilian weapons manufacturers," Lushnikov added.
