Berlin. September 17. INTERFAX - The acting Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Anna Beileveld, decided to resign after the parliament passed a vote of no confidence in the government on the eve of its actions to evacuate from Afghanistan, the NL Times portal reported on Friday.
The head of the military department indicated that she initially did not plan to leave her post, but wanted to "finish the task she faced" - to evacuate the Afghans who helped the Dutch military in Afghanistan.
"However, I noticed that my tenure has become the subject of a dispute," she added.
The day before, Dutch Foreign Minister Sigrid Kaag resigned.
Last Thursday, the lower house of parliament passed a vote of no confidence in the government of the country, it decided that "the Cabinet of Ministers acted irresponsibly" during the evacuation from Afghanistan.
