The military authorities of Russia and Belarus have shown full compatibility of control tools and a high level of interaction at the joint strategic exercises "West-2021". This was reported on Friday in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation with reference to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Sergei Istrakov.
"This exercise was the final stage of joint training of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, held every two years in accordance with the decision taken by the heads of the two states. The military authorities showed the cohesion of the headquarters and the full compatibility of the controls. A high level of interaction and comprehensive support in the interests of fulfilling the tasks set, " Istrakov said at the closing ceremony of the exercises at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground in Belarus.
Also during the ceremony, the participants of the exercises of the military contingents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia who showed the best results during the maneuvers were awarded. "The personnel of formations, military units and divisions have shown high combat revenue and the ability to solve complex tactical tasks in defense, offensive and during marches," Istrakov noted.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin and the deputy commander of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Colonel Viktor Zhitnik.
Earlier, the military department reported that the troops of the Western Military District, Airborne troops and aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces are returning to their permanent deployment points from the Obuz-Lesnovsky and Brest ranges (Belarus) after the completion of the strategic exercises "West-2021".
