TSAMTO, September 17. Expenditures on the security and defense sector in the state budget of Ukraine for 2022 are provided at the level of 5.95% of GDP. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal at a government meeting on September 15, according to Ukrinform.
According to Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko, in the draft state budget for 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to allocate UAH 319.4 billion for the security and defense sector (about $ 12 billion at the current exchange rate).
"The total financial resource for the security and defense sector is UAH 319.4 billion. or 5.95% of GDP. State budget expenditures under the Ministry of Defense in 2022 are planned in the amount of UAH 131 billion. ($4.9 billion) excluding state guarantees, which is more than the planned indicator of 2021 by UAH 13.4 billion. According to Ukrinform, according to the legislation, the Cabinet of Ministers annually submits to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for the next year no later than September 15 of this year. Together with the draft law, a report on the implementation of the state budget of Ukraine this year is submitted.
