"Real flight tests of all the control systems that are on the Soyuz-5 will begin when the flight tests of the rocket itself begin. This is December 2023, " Rogozin told reporters on Wednesday, answering a question from Interfax.
"We hope that by the end of September, a contract will be signed between our center for the operation of ground-space infrastructure and a Kazakh construction company, the modernization of the launch complex will begin, I call the directors every day to complete all these pre-contract procedures. This will be, in fact, the launch complex for Soyuz-5, "Rogozin said.
In April, the general director of NPO Avtomatiki, Andrey Misyura, announced that tests of the control system for the new Soyuz-5 launch vehicle will begin in 2021.
