The secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils agreed on the creation of a Coordinating Council on Biological Security issues. This decision was made on Wednesday in Dushanbe by the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO member states in Dushanbe. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev.
As the official representative of the Russian Security Council staff, Yevgeny Anoshin, told the correspondent of "RG", the Coordination Council being created will analyze the situation related to ensuring biological security in the CSTO member states. In particular, it will develop proposals on joint practical measures to prevent threats to national, regional and international security associated with the impact of dangerous biological factors.
In addition, the council will work on improving the legal framework within the CSTO and coordination between authorized bodies and institutions that work in the field of biological safety.
