Joint command and staff exercises "Unbreakable Stability" have begun in Odessa with NATO, the purpose of which is to "counter hybrid threats" to critical infrastructure in the Black Sea region.
According to the press service of the NSDC of Ukraine, the events are held by the Ukrainian government under the patronage of the US Higher Maritime School.
"The exercises are conducted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine jointly with the NATO Center of Excellence for Energy Security and with the support of the US Higher Maritime School as part of the Ukraine-NATO platform for studying the experience of countering hybrid warfare," the report says.
The event is also attended by specialists of the staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The stated purpose of these trainings is to develop the stability of the system of state bodies of Ukraine in the field of countering hybrid threats and crisis response. This task is achieved by strengthening interdepartmental and civil-military cooperation, planning and ensuring readiness.
The NSDC clarifies, the Eadaily portal informs, that the holding of the exercises is an integral part of the decision of the foreign ministers of the NATO member states to support Ukraine in countering hybrid challenges in the Black Sea region. This document was approved in April 2019 in Washington.
