An NGO employee who sought asylum in the United States could have mistakenly turned out to be a target that was attacked by the United States in Kabul at the end of August. Such information on Friday, September 10, is cited by The New York Times, referring to information from relatives and colleagues of the deceased as a result of the American attack.
The material of the publication notes that according to the Pentagon, there was a bomb in the liquidated car, while the article gives a different version — the vehicle was carrying canisters of water.
So, the killed driver turned out to be a certain Zemari Ahmadi, who for a long period worked with an American aid group in one of the companies in California. At the time of the direct air strike, he was traveling by car on business matters.
"While the US military recognized only three civilian casualties, Ahmadi's relatives say that 10 members of his family, including seven children, were killed during the strike," the newspaper notes.
According to journalists, the chronology of events on the day of the American strike was as follows: in the morning, Ahmadi contacted his boss, who asked to bring him a laptop, after which Ahmadi went about his business. However, the US military saw a threat in the victim's home, deciding that a group of militants was based in the building. Thus, all day long, Ahmadi's white sedan was accompanied by a drone.
According to the relatives of the deceased, the victim of the Pentagon strike had no connection with the terrorists. What from the point of view of the US military was interpreted as suspicious actions, for the Ahmadi family was a normal routine activity.
We are talking about the Pentagon's air strike on the territory of Kabul, carried out on August 29, which, as indicated in the department, was a response to a series of explosions in the vicinity of the Kabul airport, which killed almost 200 people, including American servicemen.
The US Defense Ministry confirmed the attack, indicating that a series of explosions occurred after the car was hit, which confirms the presence of a large number of explosives inside the vehicle.
However, the Asvaka news agency reported that a rocket hit a residential building in the Hajj Bagra district, according to the latest data, at least six people were killed, including four children.
