Moscow. September 9. INTERFAX-Russia is against the transformation of Syria into an arena of confrontation between third countries, the military of the Russian Federation and Israel will continue contacts on Syrian issues, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Speaking of what you asked about the Israeli strikes on Syrian territory: We are against Syria turning into an arena of confrontation between third countries. In this regard, we do not want the Syrian territory to be used against Israel, against anyone else," Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid in Moscow on Thursday.
"The practical issues that arise in this regard are discussed in detail, on a daily basis, between our military. I think that this practice has proved its usefulness, today we agreed that it will be continued, " he added.
