Militants in the Syrian city of Deraa handed over more than 300 small arms. This was announced on Thursday, September 9, by the representative of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties, Alexander Gulyaev.
"At the moment, more than 300 small arms have been handed over: mortars, machine — gun grenade launchers," the REN TV channel quotes the representative of the Russian Center as saying.
The Syrian Government grants amnesty to members of illegal armed groups (IAF) on condition that they hand over their weapons.
The transfer of weapons by the IAF militants to the Syrian government forces took place earlier, in February. Then the field commanders of the formations and representatives of the Syrian government reached an agreement on the surrender of weapons and the implementation of the liberation of the settlement of Tafas from militants, which was implemented with the participation of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties.
