A two-day large-scale rescue and response exercises to various emergencies in low and extremely low temperatures have begun in the Arctic. New rescue technologies and new equipment specially developed for the Arctic will be tested. At the same time, the exercises have already turned out to be successful even before they began, since it was possible to debug a complex organizational process from Murmansk to Anadyr, which was perfectly handled by the Roscongress staff. As a result, in addition to hundreds of guests, 39 representatives from 14 countries can observe the exercises taking place all over the Russian Arctic coast. This is the first time that a complex logistics process of this scale has been organized.
By the way, the exercises themselves are also being held for the first time in the history of our country and are unique.
Earlier it was reported that the interdepartmental experimental research exercise in the Arctic zone will be held on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation. At the same time, in seven northern regions from Murmansk to Anadyr, rescuers are now eliminating all possible accidents in these places. Therefore, the exercises interested not only representatives of the Arctic Council member countries-Finland, Norway, Canada and the United States - but also countries not at all northern-Italy, Switzerland, Holland. By the way, Russia has far-reaching plans-to hold joint exercises in the Arctic with its foreign colleagues next time. So far, such plans are only being discussed, but given the interest of foreigners, we can hope for understanding.
And there is something to see. In Norilsk and Dudinka, experiments were conducted on the use of alternative energy sources, fast-hardening foam and laser cutting. An anthrax outbreak is being eliminated in Naryan-Mar. In Vorkuta, when eliminating the consequences of an accident in the underground mine workings of a coal mine, today they will test extinguishing a fire with temperature-activated water.
In the water area of the Arkhangelsk port, a training session will be held to eliminate the spill of petroleum products, and in the water area of the Northern Sea Route of Murmansk, accidents on a passenger ship and on an underwater potentially dangerous object will be eliminated. In Yakutia, an emergency plane or helicopter will land at the Tiksi airport. In Chukotka, a fire will be extinguished at the floating nuclear thermal power plant "Akademik Lomonosov"in Pevek. The final part of the exercises will be held in the Nenets Autonomous District, where they will learn how to eliminate an oil spill in the coastal zone and protect the coastal strip.
