MOSCOW, September 7. /TASS/. The initiative to create the Eurasian Space Educational Center of Roscosmos was approved by the UN Committee on Space Exploration for Peaceful Purposes. This was reported on Tuesday in the state corporation.
"The UN Committee on Outer Space has approved the initiative to create a new regional educational center for space science and technology," the report says.
According to Roscosmos, the state corporation plans to establish cooperation with existing regional centers affiliated with the UN, and states that are interested in building human potential in the space industry.
"We consider the opening of the Eurasian Space Educational Center as an important contribution to achieving the goals of sustainable development," the head of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin is quoted in Roscosmos as saying.
According to Vladimir Matveychuk, Director of the Department of Personnel and Social Policy of Roscosmos, the concept of creating a UN regional center for space science and technology distributed across the territory of the Russian Federation, announced several years ago, has no analogues either in Russia or in the world.
