INTERFAX-The gathering of participants of the joint exercise of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CSF) of the Central Asian Collective Security Region (CAR) of the CSTO "Rubezh-2021 "was held at the Edelweiss training ground in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Central Military District (CVO) reported on Tuesday.
"As part of the gathering, which was held under the leadership of Deputy Commander of the Central Military District Yevgeny Poplavsky, representatives of the command and staff of the Central Military District of the CAR studied new ways of using units based on the experience gained by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation when performing special tasks in the Syrian Arab Republic and Nagorno-Karabakh. At the end of the training camp, a staff training was held with the officers of the headquarters of the Central Bank of the Central African Republic, " the report says.
Earlier it was reported that the exercise of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)"Rubezh-2021" started at the Edelweiss training ground in Kyrgyzstan. It involves about 500 Russian servicemen and more than 120 pieces of weapons and military equipment, including Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-8 transport and combat helicopters of the joint Russian military base "Kant", which will provide support to ground units and conduct aerial reconnaissance in the area of the exercise. The Russian military contingent is based on the military personnel of the Tuva Mountain motorized Rifle Brigade of the Central Military District, as well as the personnel of the joint Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan.
"During the practical stage, the issues of blocking and destroying combat groups and detachments of illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state will be worked out," the Central Military District said.
