About 400 military personnel will take part in the training
IVANOVO, September 7. /TASS/. Paratroopers from Russia and Belarus will conduct joint tactical exercises on the basis of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Unit, during which the actions of the combined unit will be worked out when performing special and counter-terrorist tasks. About 400 military personnel will take part in the exercises, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
"In the period from September 7 to 9, a planned joint Russian-Belarusian tactical exercise of reconnaissance units of the Airborne Troops and Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus is taking place on the basis of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Unit. Intelligence officers from the two countries will plan actions when performing special and counter-terrorism tasks. Then the paratroopers will work out the issues of camouflage and conducting reconnaissance in open areas and in the forest, " the press service reports.
On the second day of the exercises, a joint landing from An-2 aircraft will take place, during which the actions of intelligence units in unfamiliar terrain will be worked out. During the third stage, which will be held in the Yaroslavl region, the servicemen will have to destroy the identified objects of the conditional enemy and conduct live firing. In total, about 40 paratroopers from Belarus and 350 military personnel from the Ivanovo region will take part in the exercises.
