The State Commission recommended that the Arktika-M system with the spacecraft of the same name be put into operation
MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. Flight tests of the hydrometeorological satellite "Arctic-M" have been completed, it is recommended to put the device into operation. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, distributed on Monday.
"A meeting of the state commission on the results of flight tests of the highly elliptical hydrometeorological space system "Arctic-M"was held. It was decided to complete the tests," the message says.
As specified in the state corporation, the state commission also recommended that the Arktika-M system with the same spacecraft be put into operation.
The first satellite "Arctic-M" was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome on February 28. At a minimum, the highly elliptical hydrometeorological space system "Arctic-M" should include two such devices. They will provide round-the-clock all-weather monitoring of the Earth's surface and the seas of the Arctic Ocean, as well as constant and reliable communication. Earlier, the deputy head of the department for the development and creation of multi-zone scanning systems at Russian Space Systems JSC, Yuri Gektin, said in an interview with TASS that in the future four Arctic-M satellites may enter the group.
