The Army International Games (ArMI) strengthen trust between the armies of different countries and serve to develop cooperation for global security, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.
"From year to year, the Army is becoming more and more spectacular and representative. The geography of participants is expanding, the number of competitions is increasing, the complexity of the exercises performed is increasing," he said in a video message at the closing ceremony of ArMI - 2021.
Shoigu noted that the competitions carry not only a charge of uncompromising struggle, but also bring up a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect in military personnel, a willingness, despite the acute rivalry, to come to the aid of other teams.
"I am sure that such qualities are a solid basis for strengthening trust between the armies of different countries, serve to develop constructive cooperation in the interests of ensuring global security," he added.
The Army International Games-2021 were held from August 22 to September 4 on the territory of 11 countries (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan). They were attended by more than 5 thousand military personnel consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries.
