Hong Kong. September 3. INTERFAX-The Ministry of Unification of the two Koreas will closely monitor North Korea for any signs of preparations for a military parade, Yonhap reports.
"The Ministry of Unification Affairs will closely monitor any signs (...) the possibility of holding a military parade in the North, " Deputy press secretary of the Ministry Cha Dok Chol said at a regular press briefing.
Earlier, the website 38 North, which tracks the activities of Pyongyang, reported that military personnel were seen at the airfield in the capital of the DPRK. Sources in Seoul also reported that about 10 thousand military personnel were seen in Pyongyang, which may indicate that the North is preparing a military parade on the eve of the anniversaries of the founding of the state and the ruling party on September 9 and October 10, respectively.
Last October, North Korea held a large-scale military parade to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the party and unveiled a new intercontinental ballistic missile, a ballistic missile for submarines and a number of other advanced military means.
