The Federal Air Transport Agency stated that there are no sufficient funds for financial support of the material and technical base of educational institutions and for the training of commercial pilots for the industry, including the purchase of simulators. This is stated in a letter from the deputy head of the agency Natalia Andrianova to the heads of nine airlines (Izvestia has a copy).

According to the document, the Federal Air Transport Agency asked the government to allocate money for equipment for pilot training from the federal budget for the period 2022-2024. At a meeting on July 22, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Air Transport Agency to work out the issue of financial support for the purchase of simulators and equipment with the support of airlines and at the expense of the state program "Development of the Transport system", it follows from the protocol, which was read by Izvestia.
They want to partially shift the costs of purchasing simulators for educational institutions to carriers, a source of Izvestia in one of the airlines fears. According to another interlocutor in the industry, it is not the first time that the Federal Air Transport Agency asks businesses to assist in supporting educational institutions and every year indicates a lack of funds for them.
