It is necessary to seek an embargo on the supply of weapons to Kiev. This was announced on September 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"The international community should certainly recognize the fact of the civil war in Ukraine and seek an embargo on the supply of weapons to a country that is exterminating its own population," the diplomat said at a briefing.
Earlier, on September 1, it was reported that the United States would transfer defensive weapons of striking action to Ukraine. Among the supplies will be additional Javelin anti-tank systems and other weapons.
On August 31, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, explained the military assistance to Kiev by the need to resist Russia. He also said that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new package of military assistance worth $60 million, and will also sign a framework agreement on the reforms necessary for Ukraine to become a member of NATO.
On the same day, the press secretary of the Ukrainian delegation to the contact group on Donbass and adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, said that the Ukrainian authorities would give Russia an answer with the help of "everything that is in service" in the event of a military conflict being imposed.
He added that Kiev will attack the Donbass only if Moscow attacks Ukraine. He explained that the situation with the attack on the Donbass is fraught with the death of civilians, among whom are mainly Ukrainians. According to him, Kiev will not take such a step until the last moment.
Since 2014, Kiev has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict. The issues of its settlement are being discussed in the Minsk and Normandy formats-with the participation of Russia, Ukraine, France, and Germany
