Astrakhan. September 2. INTERFAX-The exercises of the air defense forces of the CIS countries "Combat Commonwealth-2021" will be transferred to the territory of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan from September 3, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
"The next stage of the exercise will be held on the territory of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan from September 3 to 24," the military department reported.
Yuri Grekhov, Commander of the air and Missile Defense Forces of the Russian Federation, said that during the first stage, the S-400, S-300 missile systems (developed by the Almaz-Antey concern of East Kazakhstan Region) and Pantsir-S destroyed more than 20 targets simulating low-altitude drones and ballistic missiles at the Ashuluk test site in the Astrakhan region.
Crews of long-range Tu-22M3 bombers, Su-34 front-line bombers, Su-30SM, Su-35S, MiG-31BM, Su-27, MiG-29SMT fighters, as well as Su-25SM, Su-24MR, Yak-130 aircraft were also involved in the maneuvers. The pilots worked out overcoming the air defense system of a conditional enemy, close maneuverable air combat, launches of unguided missiles and firing from an aircraft cannon at ground targets, bombing, as well as repelling a massive enemy missile air strike.
