The decision on the future of the rocket will be made by Roscosmos
MOSCOW, September 2. /TASS/. The Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC) sent a report on the Soyuz-6 launch vehicle to the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation in the summer. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the RCC.
"The scientific and technical report on Soyuz-6 was submitted to PJSC RSC Energia in July 2021," the press service noted.
According to the company, the decision on the need to create this carrier will be made by the state corporation "Roscosmos".
In May, Dmitry Baranov, General Director of the Progress RCC, told reporters that the company was preparing a scientific and technical report that considered all aspects of the need to use the Soyuz-6 rocket. Before that, he reported that the decision to create a Soyuz-6 rocket has not yet been made, while the Progress RCC considers it unnecessary.
