TSAMTO, September 1. On August 31, the 53rd meeting of the Coordinating Committee on Air Defense under the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states was held in Astrakhan under the leadership of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Colonel General Yuri Grekhov.
The meeting of the coordination committee was attended by delegations from the Ministries of Defense of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The meeting participants discussed the results of the coordination committee's activities in 2021, considered the issues of organizing and conducting joint operational and combat training of the CIS Joint Air Defense System in 2022, as well as a number of other issues of improving and developing the air defense systems of the CIS member states. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the development and improvement of the system of multilateral and bilateral military and military-technical cooperation of the CIS member states.
In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, nine issues related to the improvement and development of the unified air defense system, as well as strengthening bilateral and multilateral military cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of air defense were considered.
During the meeting, changes were made to the composition of the Coordinating Committee on Air Defense Issues, the results of the activities of the Coordinating Committee and its working bodies for the first half of 2021 were summed up, the draft Plan for joint activities of the joint air defense system of the CIS member states for 2022 was approved, proposals for conducting a joint computer command and staff exercise of the joint air defense system of the CIS member States "Regional Security-2022" in April 2022 were approved, as well as information on the implementation of the Concept for the development of a Unified State Radar Identification System in the States parties to the Agreement on the Creation of a joint air defense system of the CIS member States were approved. In addition, a block of financial issues related to the organization of the audit of the financial and economic activities of the Coordinating Committee for 2021, as well as the development of the joint air defense system of the CIS member states was considered.
During the meeting of the Coordination Committee, special attention was paid to the long-term planning of improving the system of multilateral and bilateral military and military-technical cooperation, the Information Support Group of the Aerospace Forces reports.
