Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered to involve officers from the troops in the training of cadets of departmental universities. "For the training of military personnel - including for practical training, internships, exercises, classes at training grounds and military equipment - in addition to teachers, military officers should be involved," the minister ordered at a conference call yesterday.
"A new academic year is beginning in the educational organizations of the Ministry of Defense. More than 2.5 thousand students, more than 61 thousand cadets, 7 thousand military personnel from 58 countries, as well as 15 thousand pupils of pre - university educational institutions will start classes," Shoigu listed. He said that over the past eight months, more than 15.5 thousand new and modernized weapons and equipment have been delivered to the army and navy. By the end of the year, the share of such an arsenal in the Armed Forces should be 71.9 percent. As for the state defense order for 2021-2023, special attention is paid to equipping the troops with new aircraft.
"We are talking about the creation of strategic, military transport and operational-tactical aircraft, which will determine the appearance of the Aerospace Forces in the near future. We are systematically increasing their share in the volume of purchased aviation equipment, " the minister said.
He recalled that last year the Ministry of Defense introduced a credit scheme for financing state contracts for the advanced supply of such weapons. Thanks to this, it was possible not only to accelerate the equipping of military units with modern models, but also to reduce their cost. Shoigu stressed that multi-year contracts guarantee stable workload for enterprises, allow them to increase employees ' salaries and implement various social projects.
The head of the military department also paid attention to the just-completed forum "Army-2021". According to the minister, 45 state contracts worth more than 500 billion rubles were concluded there. "I would like to note that at the forum it was possible to see the latest Russian weapons that are already being delivered to the troops," Shoigu said.
He spoke separately about the situation in Afghanistan. The minister called it critical. "People are trying to escape from there even at the cost of their own lives," Shoigu said. The Minister thanked our pilots and medics for their prompt and precise work in fulfilling the instructions of the President of Russia - the evacuation of several hundred citizens of five countries from Kabul.
