This was stated on Monday by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin, at a meeting with the Chief of staff of the National People's Army of Algeria, Corps General Said Shanegriha.
Fomin congratulated the top military leadership of Algeria on the successful holding of the "Loyal Friend" contest, and also noted the high level of organization of the event.
"I believe that holding competitions of international Army Games both on Russian territory and in Algeria will further strengthen Russian-Algerian military cooperation," said the deputy head of the Russian military department.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told reporters that during the talks the parties discussed the situation in the Sahara region and the Maghreb region with an emphasis on security issues, the development of bilateral relations in the field of military cooperation, promising areas of interaction.
Also, the Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation laid a wreath at the monument to the fallen heroes of Algeria "Maqam Shahid" and visited the museum of the National People's Army of Algeria.
