TSAMTO, August 30. The command of the Bangladesh Armed Forces intends to purchase a large batch of anti-tank missile systems, which, as planned, should be produced under license by the Bangladesh Weapons Factories Directorate (Bangladesh Ordnance Factories – BOF).
As reported by Defseca.com At the moment, the leadership of the Bangladesh Armed Forces expects to receive additional proposals for evaluation from Western countries / NATO member countries, as well as countries of the so-called Group B (such as China, Russia, Belarus, etc.).
The need for 1000 ATGM launchers and an unnamed number of anti-tank guided missiles with a firing range of 4 km (or more), an armor penetration of 800 mm (or higher) behind dynamic protection is stated.
At the moment, the latest and most modern ATGMs in the armed forces of Bangladesh are the Russian "Metis-M1", 120 units of which were delivered in 2013. In addition, since 2000, ATGMs of Chinese, Pakistani, Ukrainian and South Korean production have been purchased in small quantities.
