Dubai. August 29. INTERFAX - At least seven people were killed and more than 50 were injured on Sunday as a result of attacks by Yemeni Houthi rebels on the Yemeni Air Force base "an-Anad" in the province of Lahij in the south of the country.
The representative of the southern command of the armed forces of Yemen, Mohammed Naqib, said on the air of the inter-Arab TV channel al-Jazeera that the Houthis had launched several strikes with missiles and drones.
The TV channel cites the testimonies of local residents who reported that they heard several loud explosions in the area of the base.
The Houthis have not yet given any comments on the incident, al-Jazeera notes.
