Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu called for building an effective defense against anti-Russian propaganda coming from abroad. The military commander made such a statement at the conference " Army and Society. Psychological defense" within the framework of the ongoing international military-technical forum "Army-2021". According to him, at present, "deep work is being carried out against us gradually, step by step."
"First of all, these are attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the country - from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. Important questions arise: should there be an ideology or not? Why do we need deputies in the military? Why have propaganda centers been created abroad?" - the head of the Russian military department noted.
According to the Ministry of Defense, hostile centers of anti-Russian propaganda are being created in countries bordering Russia. According to Sergei Shoigu, they are located in Riga, Tallinn, Warsaw and Helsinki.
"We need to build a system of protection against this. After all, we cannot allow ourselves to forget our history, forget about the merits of our parents, fathers and grandfathers. We should not allow someone to destroy this environment. It should be preserved and multiplied. I am absolutely convinced of this, and we are doing it all together, " the head of the Russian Defense Ministry stressed.
It is noted that during the conference, its participants read reports and exchanged views on the threats to Russia in the information sphere, as well as proposed measures to counter them.
In early August, Sergei Shoigu already reported on the work of anti-Russian propaganda centers in Europe. "A propaganda strategy center has been established in Riga, similar centers have been established in Tallinn and Warsaw. Information weapons are being created there, which are being introduced and distributed throughout our country. These centers, in particular, spread many rumors, not the best flavors come from these structures," the minister said.
