Last year, about 1 thousand yunarmeytsev entered military schools
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 26. /TASS/. The number of yunarmeyets who entered military universities this year has almost doubled compared to last year. This was announced to TASS at the Army-2021 forum by the chief of the general staff of the Unarmia, Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny.
"As a result of professionally-oriented work with young people, more than 2.5 thousand unarmeits have entered military universities this year," he said.
According to him, last year about 1 thousand yunarmeytsev entered military schools. "Here is progress for you: the prestige of military professions is growing among the participants of our movement," Nagorny stressed.
As the leader of the movement noted, "Unarmia" holds many events dedicated to increasing the prestige of military service, including attending military exercises, holding open days and conscripts, actions "Military service under contract is your choice", as well as ceremonies for sending conscripts to serve in the army.
The All-Russian children's and youth military-patriotic movement "Yunarmiya" was created in 2016 on the initiative of the Ministry of Defense and with the support of the President of Russia. Now there are more than 850 thousand participants in its ranks.
As Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in early August, more than 13 thousand cadets have been enrolled in military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense in 2021. The most popular were the Ryazan School of the Airborne Forces and command universities of the Land Forces.
