MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/. The Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) will be the prototype of modules that will go to other planets with a large number of specialists in decades. This was announced by the general director of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.

"In fact, the new station will be a prototype of modules that in the future, in decades, will reach other planets not just by crews, but by a large number of specialists who will be required for the development of these planets of the solar system," Rogozin said, congratulating the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia on its 75th anniversary.

According to the head of Roscosmos, the new station will be radically different from what exists today. It will exercise full control not only of what is under the station, but also of outer space.

"The task is extremely difficult. Of course, it will be connected with the training of fundamentally new specialists in the cosmonaut squadron, " he said.

In April, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the state of the ISS leaves much to be desired, so Russia can focus on creating its own orbital station. The task of the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia is to ensure the readiness of the first base module for the new Russian orbital station in 2025, it will be a scientific and energy module, which was previously supposed to be launched to the ISS in 2024.

Rogozin said in an interview with TASS that he sent a letter to Borisov with a detailed roadmap of the project and materials of the Presidium of the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos. He specified that the inclination of the ROSS orbit (51.6 degrees or 97-98 degrees) will be determined during the preliminary design.
