The "High-precision complexes" reported that the "Kornet-D1" is being created for two variants of carriers: the wheelbase of the Tiger-M armored car and the tracked base of the BMD-4M amphibious assault vehicle
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 24. /TASS/. The latest anti-tank missile system (ATGM) "Kornet-D1" developed by the Instrument Engineering Design Bureau (KBP) named after Academician A. G. Shipunov (part of the holding" High-precision complexes " of the Rostec State Corporation) will be able to hit two different targets simultaneously. This was reported to TASS in the press service of "High-precision complexes" during the international military-technical forum "Army-2021".
"The brand-new Kornet-D1 complex [has] a doubled effective firing range, new basic landing gear, as well as the ability to fire in automatic mode and simultaneously fire at two targets spaced along the front, range and angle of location," the High - Precision Complexes informed.
According to the holding, the Kornet-D1 complex is currently being created for two carrier variants: the wheelbase of the Tiger-M armored car and the tracked base of the BMD-4M amphibious assault vehicle. "At the same time, the modular design of the Kornet-D1 combat vehicles will allow creating a complex on any carrier that has the appropriate load capacity and internal space, "the press service added.
The Kornet anti-tank missile system is designed to defeat tanks and other armored targets, including those equipped with modern means of dynamic protection. The promising ATGM "Kornet-D" can also hit air targets. The rocket is guided by a laser beam. The maximum firing range of the Kornet-D complex has been increased to 10 km, whereas in previous versions it is 5.5 km.
