TSAMTO, August 23. The Serbian company Yugoimport-SDPR presented a new NOVA light multi-purpose missile system at the IDEF-2021 defense industry exhibition held in Istanbul.
As reported by Armyrecognition.com, the system is designed to combat enemy armored vehicles, defeat fortified structures, low-flying air and surface sea targets. The NOVA complex can be used from various platforms, including helicopters, armored vehicles or small ships.
The complex includes a rocket in a container, a sighting and launching device, a ground control station. The complex can be used in the versions installed on the equipment or portable (on a tripod).
The 26 kg rocket is equipped with a two-stage (starting, marching) rocket engine, an electron-optical / infrared homing head, as well as a fragmentation mass of 7 kg or a cumulative weight of 6.4 kg warhead. The diameter of the ammunition in the container is 300 mm, the length is 1400 mm. The weight of the container with the rocket is 35 kg, the launcher with two missiles in the TPK is 76 kg. The declared target range is from 0.5 to 8 km, armor penetration is 1000 mm of homogeneous steel armor. The weight of the ground control station equipped with a 14-inch display is 3 kg.
After the launch, the rocket under the control of an inertial navigation system flies in the direction of the target. The image from the homing head is transmitted via a radio channel to the operator's workplace, which performs target capture on the final section of the trajectory.
