MOSCOW, 22 Aug — RIA Novosti. The Russian Foreign Ministry takes an active offensive position, the potential of the domestic diplomatic service works very pragmatically, precisely in the national interests of Russia, President Vladimir Putin said.
"It will not be a big secret that our diplomatic department takes a very active offensive position. Sometimes I even have to remind (Sergey Lavrov. - Editor's note) that he is not the Minister of Defense, but of foreign affairs, " he said at a meeting with representatives of United Russia.
"The huge professional potential of our diplomatic service, of course, is being realized today and is certainly working very pragmatically, precisely in the national interests of the country," the president added.
