London. August 22. INTERFAX-The Taliban Resistance Movement (an organization banned in the Russian Federation), which controls the province of Panjshir, expresses its readiness both for a coalition with the Taliban and for war.
The leader of the movement, Ahmad Masoud, in an interview with the Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, said that he was ready for negotiations and "to defend himself to the last".
"We are ready to participate in an inclusive government with the Taliban. (...) However, the formation of a government aimed at extremism is unacceptable. This would be a threat to Afghanistan, the region, and the whole world," he said.
The British television and radio corporation BBC notes that, according to a representative of the movement, it currently has 9 thousand fighters.
