MOSCOW, August 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin assured the servicemen that the authorities will continue to provide them with comprehensive support.
"The state, without any doubt, should support this category of our citizens [military] in every possible way, especially since they perform the most important state function to protect the Fatherland and our people, our citizens, our country as a whole," he said on Sunday at a meeting with representatives of the United Russia party.
Putin stressed that the military are the same citizens of the Russian Federation, but it is still a "special detachment". "These are people who voluntarily assumed certain restrictions on life, for themselves personally and for their loved ones, for their families," he noted, specifying that he speaks not only about the combat component and risks to health and life, but also about elementary living conditions when military personnel are forced to change garrisons, places of residence, etc.
And, according to the president, here the solution of social issues, housing problems, the provision of permanent housing is extremely important, which should be borne in mind by all levels of government, primarily federal ones.
"I proceed from the fact that United Russia, having formed a capable faction in the Duma in the future, can effectively solve these issues," Putin concluded.
