The military police of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the Turkish military, continue to patrol the border zone in the north of Syria in the province of Aleppo. This was reported to journalists by the representative of the military police Viktor Sosyura.
"The following tasks are being solved: maintaining the initiative of the presence of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, stabilizing the political and economic situation in the region," he said.
The patrol is carried out with the support of Russian aviation. Columns of military equipment are moving through key points of the province. During the patrol, the Russian and Turkish military manage to detect secret underground caches of Islamist militants.
Earlier, the province of Aleppo in the north of the country was the scene of fierce clashes between the Syrian government army and militants. The province was liberated from terrorist groups with the support of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
