Kiev. August 19. INTERFAX-UKRAINE-Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called for removing uncertainty about Ukraine's accession to NATO, said that NATO membership will provide Kiev with protection from a new Russian offensive, The Washington Post writes, citing an interview with the head of state.
Zelensky, in an interview with The Washington Post and four other media outlets, also noted that Russia had left some equipment near the border with Ukraine and could increase the presence of its troops there "at any time."
According to the head of state, the uncertainty regarding Ukraine's accession to NATO is "a signal to other countries that you are not welcome here, and Russia is just around the corner, strengthening its influence."
