This was announced on Wednesday by Vladimir Onokoy, head of the Directorate for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Kalashnikov Concern, at the IDEF ' 21 international defense industry exhibition in Istanbul.
"At the IDEF 2021 exhibition, the Kalashnikov Concern participates in the framework of the Rosoboronexport exposition. We are very pleased with this opportunity because IDEF is still an international exhibition that is visited not only by representatives of the Turkish side, but also by interested persons from all over the region, so here we have the opportunity to talk with representatives of the Turkish army, as well as to talk with potential partners about sales to the civilian market and at the same time talk with a huge number of our partners from around the world. As usual, there is a great interest in our products from African states, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, " the agency's interlocutor said.
According to him, "quite a lot of negotiations are planned within the framework of the exhibition, but of course only part of our products are presented here." "The main array of our products, including new products, will be presented next week at the Army 2021 exhibition, which will be held in Moscow. There we will present a number of new products, both in the field of small arms and in other areas, " he added.
The IDEF ' 21 exhibition opened on Tuesday at the TUYAP Exhibition Center in Istanbul and will run until August 20. The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey under the patronage of the Turkish Presidential Administration and will be held in the largest Turkish metropolis for the 15th time. It will be attended by advanced defense concerns, including a number of Russian ones (Rosoboronexport, part of Rostec, Kalashnikov Group of Companies, Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan Region).
The organizers of the exhibition told TASS that a wide range of products from 1,236 defense companies from 53 countries, including 536 Turkish ones, will be presented on the territory of TUYAP. 154 delegations from 79 countries of the world are scheduled to participate. Following the results of the exhibition, a number of contracts are expected to be signed, as well as the presentation of new products.
