MOSCOW, Aug 18-RIA Novosti. The mankind is moving towards destruction by leaps and bounds, as it does not rationally consume goods and resources, according to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergei Shoigu.
"I will express an idea that, I think, many people will not like. It seems to me that humanity is taking leaps and bounds towards its own destruction. And the reason for this is the unrestrained desire for consumption," he said in an interview with the magazine "Around the World".
He cited his grandfather, a hunter, as an example of a reasonable attitude to the resources of the Earth and nature.
"So he went to the taiga, got an animal. I could have gotten more, but no. Because he knows that he will not eat so much meat, and next year there will be fewer animals. These are rules created not by the bureaucracy, but by the way of life, " Shoigu said.
