Washington. August 16. INTERFAX-US President Joe Biden said that he does not think it is right to send the American army to participate in prolonged civil wars in other countries.
"I do not want and will not send our troops to fight during the eternal civil wars in other countries," he said, speaking at the White House.
"This is not in the national interests of the United States," Biden added. He noted that such US military operations will only lead to the death of servicemen and injuries.
The Taliban (the Taliban movement, banned in the Russian Federation) began active hostilities in Afghanistan in May against the background of the beginning of the withdrawal of US troops and their allies from the country. The Taliban forces, who entered the Afghan capital on Sunday and occupied the presidential residence, said that they had liberated Afghanistan and considered the war they had waged to be over.
