German Chancellor candidate Lachette called Afghanistan the biggest defeat of NATO since the founding of the organization

Berlin. August 16. INTERFAX-The candidate for Chancellor of Germany from the Christian Democratic Union of the CDU, Armin Laschet, called the capture of Afghanistan by the Taliban (the terrorist organization "Taliban" is banned in the Russian Federation) a defeat for NATO.

"It is obvious that this mission of the international forces was not successful. This is the largest defeat of NATO that the organization has experienced since its foundation. This is a change of epochs that awaits us, " he told reporters in Berlin on Monday.

The day before, the Taliban entered Kabul and occupied the presidential residence, and then announced that they had liberated Afghanistan and considered the war they were waging to be over.
