The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan on Monday, August 16, confirmed the fact of the crash of an Afghan Air Force plane in the Surkhandarya region of the republic.
"Indeed, on the eve of the Afghan Air Force plane crashed in the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, the details of the incident are currently being studied, information about this will be reported later," TASS quotes the head of the information service of the department, Bahrom Zulfikarov.
Earlier, on August 16, Gazeta.uz She reported that the crash occurred the night before in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region.
At the same time, videos and photos from the place of the alleged plane crash appeared in social networks. The source of the publication, in turn, clarified that two Afghan servicemen were hospitalized in the Termez department of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medicine.
It was noted that, according to unconfirmed reports, the passengers who were on the plane managed to jump off with a parachute. Information about the victims is being clarified.
