The servicemen of the armed forces of Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, who were involved in joint exercises that ended on August 10 in Tajikistan at the Harb-Maydon training ground 20 km from Afghanistan, returned to their permanent deployment points. This is stated in a message distributed on Monday by the press service of the Central Military District (CVO).
"Motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance and other units performed a combined march along various routes, covering 200 kilometers. Helicopters of the aviation group of the 201st military base and aircraft of the Russian military space Forces were also involved in the transfer of troops and military equipment," the report says.
In total, 2.5 thousand military personnel, including 1.8 thousand from Russia, and about 500 units of weapons and military equipment were involved in the exercises of the three countries. The basis of the Russian military contingent at the exercises were the units of the 201st military base.
